Yu.V. Rozhdestvensky is an expert in the field of the theory of mechanical action of optical radiation to quantum systems, coherent quantum effects, Bose-Einstein condensation and quantum frequency standards. He graduated from Department of Physics of Leningrad State University. After finishing postgraduate studies in the laboratory of Prof. V.S. Letohov (Institute of Spectroscopy of RAS), he worked in the S.I. Vavilov State Optical Institute (1985-2007), and after that in the Chemistry Silicate Institute of RAS (2007-2009).
Yu. V. Rozhdestvensky is intensive researcher in the next fields: the physical foundations of sub Doppler cooling of quantum systems, new modifications of Raman cooling significantly lower of single-photon recoil limit, spatial localization of atomic populations, coherent population trapping effect, ion dynamics in RF-trap. a number of efficient decomposing organisms for Atomic wave packet, considered. Recently, one of the main area of research interest is the study of the cooling of nano particles both optical and RF-trap.
